Terms & Conditions

1. Making a booking

Bookings are made by telephone, via our website or in writing directly with a member of our Sales Team. A written confirmation from the Sales Team by email or mail confirms and reserves the accommodation for the client in the form of a Reservation Number. The booking and contract between the client and Bigfoot Travel is not formally confirmed until we receive the 30 % deposit.

The booking will be confirmed on receipt of the deposit when a confirmation invoice will be issued. This documentation should be carefully checked and any corrections notified to us within 10 days of receipt.

In the case of a telephone booking made within 10 weeks of departure and where payment is made by Visa, MasterCard, Delta or Switch, a contract shall come into existence immediately we orally confirm the booking.
For bookings made directly between the client and Bigfoot Travel Ltd, the contract is between the aforementioned with our terms and conditions applicable.

For bookings made directly between the client and an authorised agent, the contract remains between the client and the agent, with the agents’ terms & conditions applicable. Bigfoot Travel will remain the travel operator and provider, but will have no direct or formal relationship with the client, other than to professionally provide the services and accommodation that we clearly define on our website. All matters regarding payments, discrepancies, refunds or cancellations are to be dealt with between the client and the agent responsible for the holiday. Likewise, it is the agents’ responsibility to inform and comply within the terms and conditions of Bigfoot Travel Ltd. All in resort extras can be purchased directly by the client from Bigfoot Travel Ltd.

2. Terms of payment

30% of the total price package is payable immediately upon confirmation of the booking. The balance, including any additional extras or modifications, is payable in full no later than 10 weeks prior to the arrival date. No reminder will be sent other than the deposit confirmation.

Payment can be made by bank transfer, debit or credit card. If payment is made by credit card, a 1.5% handling fee per transaction will be charged and automatically added to your balance.

If payment is not received in full on time, we reserve the right to cancel your holiday and levy cancellation charges in accordance with the “Cancellation” section below.

3. Financial Protection

We strongly recommend that all clients have in place at time of booking a suitable travel insurance policy to cover any alterations, cancellations of the booking or incidents during their stay.

4. Alterations or cancellation

Any alteration the client wishes to make to a confirmed booking within 10 weeks of departure will incur an amendment to booking fee of £25. If an alteration to accommodation type is required, this constitutes a complete holiday cancellation (with appropriate cancellation charges applicable) and new arrangements made will then be treated as a new booking.

Additional services e.g lift passes, ski lessons, transfers etc. that are booked cannot be cancelled or modified less than 48 hours before the date the service is to be delivered/commence.

A cancellation of holiday request must be made in writing or by email by the lead name booker. Cancellation charges are as follows and applicable from the day we receive written notification;

71 days or more prior to arrival Loss of deposit
70-43 days prior to arrival         30% of total price
42-29 days prior to arrival         45% of total price
28-15 days prior to arrival         60% of total price
Less than 14 days or no show   100% of total price

We do reserve the right to alter or cancel your holiday. In the unlikely event of this happening, other than the failure on your part to pay the final balance by the due date as confirmed on the invoice, we will offer you the choice of comparable accommodation, receiving or paying any price difference, or cancelling your holiday and receiving prompt and full refund.
We reserve the right to terminate your holiday whilst you are in resort if you, or any member of your party’s behaviour is considered detrimental to Bigfoot Travel Ltd, it’s clients or any third party and no further contractual obligations will apply.

Bigfoot Travel Ltd are not responsible for events beyond our control such as fire, floods, adverse weather conditions, natural disaster, political unrest, natural or nuclear disaster, war and any other ‘Force Majeure’ events.

5. Our prices

We guarantee the price of the holiday as quoted at the time of booking. We do however, reserve the right to increase or decrease published prices at any time before you book or after. In the event of major currency fluctuations, we reserve the right to add a surcharge to reflect the variation in exchange rate.

The price of your travel arrangements can be varied due to changes in transportation costs such as fuel costs, taxes or fees chargeable for services such as landing taxes, embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports, and exchange rates. Also Government (UK & foreign) action such as changes in VAT or any other Government imposed charges, there will be no changes within 30 days of departure.

We will absorb and you will not be charged for any increase equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges.

You will be charged for the amount over and above that plus an administration charge of £1 per person. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than 10% of the price of your travel arrangements, you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday if we are able to offer.

A refund will only be payable if the decrease in our costs exceeds 2% as set out above. Where a refund is due, we will pay you the full amount of the decrease in our costs.

VAT (French TVA) is included in the price of your catered holiday calculated at 5.5% VAT on 75% of the catered accommodation price and 19.6% on 25% of the catered accommodation price.
There is no VAT on Self Cater accommodation, transport and in resort transfers.

We reserve the right to make an additional charge for some special diets due to the costly nature of certain specialist ingredients so it is important to discuss this with us at the time of booking.

We take the issue of chalet security very seriously. However, owing to the nature of chalet holidays, the buildings may not be locked at all times. Please be aware that there will be shared use with other guests and staff of the entrance door and that all personal baggage and equipment are at all times at the owners risk and that any loss or damage is not the responsibility of Bigfoot Travel Ltd.
