Non-Skiing Activities
Chamonix can give you all you need to entertain you if you don't
ski or don't want to ski every day.
Something else in the snow - Try dog sledging or snow shoeing – this
is great fun for anyone who likes being outdoors but doesn't have
the desire to get on two planks and get skiing.
Perhaps a bit of shopping - Chamonix has a great range of
shops giving you the opportunity to buy a Chanel jacket from the
Chanel shop or a pair of ski boots from Footworks but if that isn't
enough you can zip through the tunnel and go to the Aosta Valley…but
why stop there when Milan is only another hour down the road. And
don't forget Geneva is just an hour away in the opposite direction.
Visit the Mer de Glace and have lunch with a difference -
With so much nature around you and so many dramatic features it's
a shame to stay in doors. Jump on the rack and pinion train which
will take you up to the Mer de Glace, have lunch at the Montenvers
Hotel and be back in time to join in with the Apres ski!
A trip in the worlds most famous cable car - Something else
Chamonix is famous for – The
Aguille de Midi Cable Car.
A day in a Spa - Within Chamonix you can spend the day relaxing
in a spa at the Albert Premier hotel or just a hop outside the valley
you have St Gervais Spa or the spas in the Martigny in Switzerland.
And if that's not enough there is always the cafes and bars to
sit in and watch the world go by, markets to buy local produce from,
films to watch in the cinema and museums and exhibitions to go and
fill your head with culture. If you want any suggestion then don't
hesitate to ask the Bigfoot team.
