We have written a short guide to ensure that you get the most out of your winter holiday in Chamonix. Our guide contains information on restaurants; getting around town; a few bars to visit; the world class snow parks; a few cool local shops and useful telephone numbers.

Five things to do in Chamonix during the Winter

  1. Ski or Snowboard the famous Vallee Blanche. Surrounded by jagged peaks and glaciers, this is an incredible off-piste run that will stay with you forever. Hire one of our guides for the day – they know the best spots.
  2. Apres ski in Chambre Neuf. Recently voted in the Top 5 apres-ski bars in the Alps, this is a ski boot stomping, live music, beer spilling experience that you’ll keep going back for.
  3. Visit the local farmers market. Every Saturday in the main square you can pick up local cheeses and meats and chat with the friendly locals. Bring the family.
  4. Take the gondola up the Aiguille du Midi and you’ll soon feel on top of the world. This lift reaches 3842 metres and puts you right in front of Mont Blanc.
  5. Ride the Luge. Great fun for all the family. Strap in and wizz down 1300m of track; so thrilling you’ll be riding it more than once!

Snow Parks

You will find the main board parks at Le tour at the end of the valley. There is also a park at Grands Montets and there is a jump and air bag up Brévent. In particular the park at Le Tour has a big range of rails and kickers for all abilities and a new boarder cross course.

SUMMER IN CHAMONIX

Chamonix is arguably more popular in summer than winter which may be surprising at first but when you see what’s on offer it’s easier to believe. The amount of activities available to our guests in the summer is mind-blowing! We’ve been here for years and we’re still finding new and exciting things to do.

The MTB trails around Chamonix are great for all abilities, especially those who are more advanced with some epic steep descents easily accessible from the lifts. Then there’s rock climbing, walking, trekking, road biking, swimming down the valley in Lake Passy.. the list goes on. We say: Chamonix is a must visit in the Summer!
